Friendship is not based on doing something for someone. It is based on trust and respect. It is not what a person can give us materially, but the kind, encouraging word they provide when you need it most, the comfort they give when you are feeling down and depressed, the calls at 3:00 in the morning, when they believe you need someone to talk to.
